Electronic Mentoring Support for Mentors in the Station Management Learning Programme
Welcome to the Electronic Mentoring Support for Mentors in the Station Management Learning Programme (SMLP)!
You've attended the Mentor Training Workshop offered by AIM and this section of the AIM website was specifically designed for you.
Mentoring is an Integral Part of the SMLP
AIM will facilitate five-day workshops to train the SMLP Mentors. Mentors will learn how to develop their mentees (SMLP learners) regarding their personal, career, organisational and networking needs. The process and content of mentoring will be discussed and role played i.e. relationship development, understanding, challenging and actioning.
A half-day follow-up session will be held by AIM with the Mentors at the end of the SMLP.

The Role of Mentors in the SMLP: Additional Information
The main function of Mentoring in the SMLP is to assist with the compilation of the Portfolio of Evidence.
Mentors are required to have at least one feedback session per month with their mentees. Mentors have to observe the learner demonstrate competence and verify evidence, measured against criteria (to be provided). Mentors provide guidance and support regarding the collection of evidence: evidence must be sufficient and relevant, recorded and assessed.
At the end of the SMLP the Mentor will submit the Portfolio of Evidence to the assessing institution.
